My college English major (VCSU '64) sensibility loved the BisTrib's editorial today about restoring civility. In part it said, "We need to do a better job of teaching the language. We need a larger vocabulary. Too often we fall back on nasty words because we don't know how to make a civil argument. We lack the words and rely on stringing together insults to make a point." It couldn't have been better said.
