90th

There was a big birthday party in Sheldon yesterday honoring Harold Krueger's 90th. The place was packed with well wishers. Verrill Sprunk on left, Harold in middle, and Tom Gibson on right.

2000 Pieces!

This wife of mine! She let out a whoop when I was at my desk in the other room and right away I knew why: she had finished this 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle after about two weeks of work. She worked at it to recuperate from finishing her work on a family history. Now I think she’ll be ready to tackle another research project.  Alas, she has a 3000 piece monstrosity waiting on the shelf which she says is for next winter

Progress Report

I stopped at the still-under-construction Sheldon fire hall and community room to check out the progress. It has changed considerably since last time. As the pictures show the sheet rock has been hung and taped. Note how high the walls are. An electrician came down the stairs as I was talking to Bruce Flatt. Bruce has done a lot of the interior work although he did offer that he has had help. I think there will be some nice gatherings here in the future.

The Road Patrol

When I was much younger, there would come a day when the roads got so washboardy rough that Dad would say it's time to hook onto the road patrol and smooth them out. I would drive the tractor and he would work the controls of the blade from the platform on the rear. We came across one in Georgia at an ag museum and I looked it over. Sure enough, on its frame was stamped the name "Road Patrol." After I searched the internet, more pictures came up. It's another memory found after sorting through a pile of pictures.
